The Wave Arts WaveSurround Plugin gives you an exciting new way to listen to stereo recordings. Standard stereo makes the sound come from between the two speakers in front of you. Listening to music through the Wave Arts WaveSurround Plugin makes the music surround you, literally placing you *inside* the music.

In a typical PC listening environment, stereo MP3 files are played back through two loudspeakers placed on either side of the computer monitor. The listener hears stereo sound, but because the speakers are so close together, the perceived "soundstage" is quite limited or flat - it sounds as though all the sound is coming from between the two speakers.

The WaveSurround plugin uses sophisticated signal processing technology to synthesize "virtual" loudspeakers that can be positioned anywhere around the listener. By positioning the virtual speakers to the sides of the listener, the listener becomes immersed in the sound mix. Once you hear how incredibly good this sounds, you’ll never want to go back to plain stereo listening. The plugin is powered by Wave Arts 3D Audio technology, which is the result of over 9 years of research into 3D audio

The WaveSurround plugin works best when the listener is positioned between two speakers placed on either side of the computer monitor. The plugin also sounds great when using headphones. For best results, you should disable any 3D modes your speakers or sound card may support. Minimum system requirements are a Pentium 133 Mhz CPU. The plugin uses a fair amount of CPU power and won’t run correctly on slower machines. The plugin has no effect on monophonic recordings.
