BlurImage is an Xtra for Macromedia Director 5/6 that performs
Photoshop - style filters on graphics. |
| Why. |
We all take for granted the ability to create fancy graphics
using applications such as Adobe Photoshop. But when it comes to interactive media,
we have no control over the graphics that are displayed. Effects such as blur and
motion blur can be used to fake a three dimensional look and to direct the focus
of the user to the appropriate part of a presentation. By gradually applying the
filters, a sense of softness and complexity can be added to the experience. |
| How. |
The Xtra lets you apply filters such as blur, motion blur,
emboss, invert, find edges to any image cast member. The result of the operation
is placed in a new cast member that can be placed on stage as a sprite and take advantage
of ink effects, blends and scripting. The Xtra is controlled by lingo and the filters
are applied in run time on the fly, without the need to prepare numerous images ahead
of time. Technically speaking the Xtra performs a 3 X 3 matrix convolution, and any
filter that uses such a matrix can be achieved. Macintosh ,Windows. |
